One day, a miner found diamonds and told his town about it. Then, the people of his town told other cities and soon the world knew. As a result everyone wanted these precious diamonds. Tensions were already high, this fight over diamonds set them over the edge. Greed set country against country and world war three began. They fought and fought but it was very hard to make it out alive. After a while, people started to forget what they were even fighting about. It seemed like the diamonds didn't even matter any more. People were just fighting for no reason. (Sophia Carpenter)
After a few months, the fighting died down, and the war seemed to be ending. Surprisingly, an atomic bomb was dropped on one of the largest countries in the world. This caused world-wide chaos. It was a complete disaster because 75% of all plant life was wiped out making no home for animals or people. There was nowhere else on Earth to go, so researchers started to look for different places to live. Five kids decided to help the researchers by looking for places to live in our solar system. After one whole day, the team of kids agreed the new settlement should be on the moon Titan. So the next day, these children begged the researchers to check it out. Within days a rover with two people was sent to check Titan out. The explorers came back with great news, and before the people of earth knew it, there were people getting transported to Titan. It took a few weeks to figure out how to build the rockets, but like always, the scientists discovered a way. They built three rockets. The first rocket had 5 people on it, the second had 4, and the third had 12 people on it. The first rocket launched as soon as possible. Sadly, as the rocket entered the higher atmosphere, it blew up! The second rocket soon followed but the same thing happened. This made the people scheduled to fly on the third rocket very nervous. But what they didn’t know was the researchers made some changes to the rocket before launch. The scientists figured out that they had made a few errors in the circuitry which led open wires to the fuel tank. They fixed the wires in the third ship. The third rocket made it through the atmosphere and they had a challenge ahead of them as they started their journey to Titan. (Makayla Harman)
Almost immediately, the crew faced their first challenge, they had to make it past Mars and its two moons without getting sucked in by gravity. Second, they had to avoid Jupiter’s huge gravitational pull, and avoid running into any of Jupiter’s rings. They also had to watch out for its 67 moons without getting sucked in by the gravity which was definitely a challenge. As the explorers flew past Jupiter, the rocket started losing pressure and oxygen. The rocket’s computer told them there was a hole in the air tube because a meteoroid hit it. This meant it had to be fixed quickly or they would die. They fixed it with very strong and classified space duck tape. Finally as they flew around Saturn a huge asteroid hit the rocket. One of the crew members was right next to the place where it hit. He fell out, died because he couldn’t breathe, and turned to bones. They fixed it by detaching the part of the rocket. Once they saw Titan everybody started screaming in joy. Now they had to deal with colonizing. (Andrew Fox)
When they got to Titan, they saw clouds of methane and lakes of liquid methane. Once they put on their oxygen masks, they stepped outside. It took 4 long, grueling years to get there. They were so happy that they finally had solid ground to walk on that they kneeled down and kissed it. Once they stepped outside it was freezing so the explorers started to make clothes that would keep them at a good temperature. They then immediately started making Titanium City. The used the ship and the materials they brought to build houses, places to meet, places to eat, everything they’d need. They brought pipes, metal plates, animals, and even a small air dome so they take off their masks in the park. Once they finished, it was a great colony. (Sophia Stachura)
